Le Trois. The Three. El Tres.

Good afternoon!

Welcome to the Le Trois. The Three. El Tres.

Where I find and post the three articles that have caught my eye today (for earlier versions of this, check my Twitter account @nickhtang). It could be a mixture of technology, media and entertainment news (I’m passionate about this. And I can talk about this for hours) or something completely different:

1) Oh, the irony. Clearview AI was used by some law enforcement agencies in the US (the short summary? The company scraped photos from social media websites and added it to their database. Law enforcement agencies can use the company’s database by uploading a photo to see if there’s a match).

Now?

Someone has hacked into the company’s database. And named all their clients. Article written by Phil Muncaster: Facial Recognition Biz Clearview AI Suffers Data Breach.

2) In some countries you can’t watch the TV show “Friends” because WarnerMedia has decided to use the show for their own Netflix type streaming service (the short story? A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, TV studios and movie companies decided to licence their TV shows and movies to Netflix. Not only did this help Netflix become more popular (this is why you’re seeing every TV studio and movie company creating their own streaming service. If you can’t beat Netflix, you can try to join it (bonne chance. Good luck)) but it allowed the TV studios and movie companies to make some money in the short term.

Now? Michael’s headline says it all: ‘Friends’ DVD, Digital Sales Soar as It Takes a Break From Streaming

3) Finally, are you tired of your career? Or are you confused on how to keep the Gen Z, X and baby boomers coworkers happy at your office? You should consider becoming a “generational consultant.” Article written by Jazmine Hughes: Need to Keep Gen Z Workers Happy? Hire a ‘Generational Consultant’

Have a positive and awesome Thursday!
