Happy Thursday!
Welcome to The Three. Le Trois. El Tres.
Where I write about the three articles that caught my eye today.
Fun fact: Disney is hiring an Admiral for its Star Wars hotel
Personally, I’m more of a Star Trek type person than a Star Wars one but if you love Star Wars and you want to start a new career (or you’re working in the hotel industry and you want to think bigger), Disney is hiring an admiral for its Star Wars hotel (the article is behind a paywall but the headline says it all).
If you have < 4 streaming subscriptions, you need more (I’m joking)
As you can tell from the articles on my website, I love analyzing how technology impacts the media and entertainment world (and how it impacts other industries).
And it wasn’t a surprise in 2019 that Netflix is #1 when it comes to gaining new subscribers (I’m positive there’s other facts and figures that say the opposite, but let’s be honest – when you’re #1 in the streaming world, it’s very hard for others to topple you).
It’s an excellent read from Jon Lafayette on Kantar’s “Entertainment on Demand Service” study: data from 2019. August – October. Before the launch of Disney+
Researchers work everywhere. Even in the fashion world
When you read M.C’s article (it may or may not be behind a paywall) you’ll read about the world of vintage clothes scouts (personally, I prefer using the job title researcher). Who are hired by celebrities and designers to buy vintage clothes. So they can be inspired to create the next trending item.
