The Three. Le Trois. El Tres

Happy FriYaY!

I know you’re having an awesome and positive week!

Here are the three articles that caught my eye!

I love you all!

Have a great weekend!

P.S. When you start a new job in a different industry, relish your outsider role. Why? Because you were hired to bring a different POV.

Stay at home workout

Happy Halloween!

And enjoy (I will be eating this):

Tie dye is in

This article is behind a paywall but the headline says it all (short summary? Tie dying is popular. Don’t be surprised if you see this in spring/summer 2021):

‘I Can Tie-Dye from Morning Until Night.’ DIY Fashion Craze Makes a Comeback

Forget about Zoom

Imagine if you had your own personal hologram machine. So you can talk and see people in real time. Instead of using your computer screen:

PORTL Hologram raises $3M to put a hologram machine in every home

P.S. Imagine the impact on the media industry. Instead of watching your news/sports/movie etc from your big screen tv/tablet/computer, the news anchors etc will appear in your home (that’s technology’s impact on the entertainment industry. The ability to interact 1-1 with you)

Spotify + Google Home

Marketing lesson #1:

If your audience is listening to songs and podcasts on Spotify, you better:

A) be there and

B) assume that they’re using a speaker (eg: Google, Alexa, Siri) to use Spotify.

Add an incentive (example: free sample) and you might gain a new customer:

Estée Lauder lets Spotify listeners order samples on Google Home

Marketing lesson #2:

Always have a swipe file. A file where you save any email newsletter, newspaper/magazine article, ad or social media tweet/status update that caught your eye. Why? You can use it as inspiration for your own marketing campaigns (or job hunting) one.

Author: Research King

My real name is Nick but my clients call me the Research King. Why? Because I love researching and finding information. And they’re literally amazed when I find the information for them. I love analyzing how technology influences the media and entertainment world. Because the media and entertainment industry is constantly changing. And technology is playing a big role in changing it (from CD’s to live-streaming). Finally, I love coffee, going to the gym/working out and anything to do with athletic leisure clothing (I’m a big Lululemon fan). P.S.
