Travelling the ocean
The pandemic has caused a logjam at sea. The sofa your ordered last year? It’s stuck at sea on a ship. Waiting for a spot in a crowded port. Some companies are taking control by buying/renting their own cargo ship. Example? Home Depot: link
Play a game.
Companies that own malls are in trouble? Why?
- Lots of stores went bankrupt during the pandemic (empty spaces)
- Some are getting out of the malls (example: Gap)
- Existing tenants want a better lease deal/location and
- No one is sure whether or not people will visit a store (my prediction? There will be a bump as people want to go out; beyond that, it’s back to ordering online).
The solution? Invest in a gaming company. And bring the games to your mall (similar to movie theaters): link
Technology’s impact on the entertainment industry? Everyone is copying it to impact their own business. Example? Peloton (my favorite fitness company; it combines technology and Hollywood into one package. I’m saving for a bike to complement Coach Wayne’s online, live, three day a week, fitness courses): link
