A clear blue sky with the sun shining brightly and jets leaving contrails. Leafless trees are silhouetted against the sky, while snow-covered rooftops of houses are visible below.

One tree, sun and contrail. What does this have to do with the future of fashion and AI?

Hopefully, after you’ve read this, you’ll understand how a simple photo of a sun, tree and contrail are linked to the future of fashion and AI.

Soundtracks drives the fashion beat (or vice versa). From a cultural perspective, showing someone what they want to:

  • watch
  • listen or
  • wear

is the key ingredient that drives innovation in the fashion and music industry.

Whether it’s Indē Wild breaking into the US via Sephora by emphasizing I-beauty, same as J-beauty and K-beauty, or UMG using AI to create a unique soundtrack for someone living in South Africa, you can argue that fashion and music are linked together.

That’s why you need to examine why the best ideas have been passed down from generation to generation; in the hopes of preserving the lessons from the past, while innovating for the future. Two examples:

  • fashion from India is being worn around the world and
  • Michael Jackson’s innovative concerts that started in the US and ended up changing Europe’s and Asia’s music scene while changing the fashion industry at the same time.

If you think about it, AI does the same thing. Faster. Everywhere.  Right down to your backyard.

The key that connects everything? GeoAI. If you pick a photo out of your photo album, AI can  analyze it (season, with whom, day, evening, night). If you allow the AI to use your location, it can create a your own soundtrack that suits your mood and picks out your wardrobe. Right in your own backyard.

If you think about it, where you live? That’s the prompt. What you’re planning on wearing or going through your photos are the keys to GeoAI and to the media and fashion styles you want to wear or create.

Mistakes are mine.

My real name is Nick but to my clients, I’m their 2nd brain. Why? Because I keep them up to date on global shifts - societal, political and technological - so they can stay ahead of the competition. I also track innovations across industries to uncover opportunities that can transform your business. I love analyzing how technology influences the media and entertainment world. Because the media and entertainment industry is constantly changing. And technology is playing a big role in changing it (from CD’s to live-streaming). Finally, I love coffee, going to the gym/working out and anything to do with athletic leisure clothing (I’m a big Lululemon fan). P.S.
