It’s Not Just Your Age

“Age isn’t a factor,” says Trina Hosmer, 81, of Vermont. Not only did she win the 15k at the 2026 Masters World Cup by almost nine minutes, but where she lives, Nordic skiing is part of life. Age isn’t the only factor. Where you live is as well.

When it comes to health, every age group is thriving in its own way. That’s why some people over 70 are cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, and racing in World Masters events. For some 30 somethings, The Wall Street Journal reports, gummies and multivitamin pills are out. In? Supplement strips, because they dissolve on your tongue. In South Korea, you can buy Esther Formula strips at Olive Young. In Canada? Sleep strips from Vancouver based Sleep or Die.

When it comes to being social, some people want a room full of strangers. Others want a story on their phone. According to Dentsu’s research across 12 markets, 11% of boomers have watched microdramas. Others would rather hear a story together in a bar or a local event space. For example, Lit Out Loud in New York City organizes free live readings of literary works by professional voice actors. As NYPL chief librarian Brian Bannon said, “You add sidewalks, people walk on them.” Build the conditions, and people show up.

According to Home Economics, in the US, the store near your home says a lot about what it’s worth. Homes near a Club Pilates are worth about 64% more; Whole Foods? About 56% more; Trader Joe’s? About 54% more; and Family Dollar? About 32% less. My read? People near a Club Pilates may have more time and money for ski trips and live readings.

Remember, age isn’t the only factor. Where you live is as well. That means content gets made for each place. Artificial intelligence that runs locally and is close to the people watching is one way to do this.

My real name is Nick but to my clients, I’m their 2nd brain. Why? Because I keep them up to date on global shifts - societal, political and technological - so they can stay ahead of the competition. I also track innovations across industries to uncover opportunities that can transform your business. I love analyzing how technology influences the media and entertainment world. Because the media and entertainment industry is constantly changing. And technology is playing a big role in changing it (from CD’s to live-streaming). Finally, I love coffee, going to the gym/working out and anything to do with athletic leisure clothing (I’m a big Lululemon fan). P.S.
