#AIChat is a Twitter chat focused on artificial intelligence.
My guest(s) help you make sense of the artificial intelligence world. By giving you advice on how to use it.
On May 30th, my guest was @copywriterkerry.
The topic? See the first tweet below.
Mistakes are mine.
P.S. Take notes. Why? You’re going to learn a lot from Kerry.

@nicktang @wearetinygiant #AIChat A1) It took a while to train AIDA. Our dataset was 10 years’ worth of talks. Every talk ever delivered at the Cheltenham science festival went into our neural network (AIDA)

Here’s the one #AIChat question for @copywriterkerry:
Q1) how hard was it to train AIDA to examine the data?— Nick Tang (@nickhtang) May 30, 2019
@nicktang @wearetinygiant #AIChat A1) It took a while to train AIDA. Our dataset was 10 years’ worth of talks. Every talk ever delivered at the Cheltenham science festival went into our neural network (AIDA)

A1) We ran the neural network over several days. At first the output was bonkers, but over time we got some great results.
— Kerryharrison (@copywriterkerry) May 30, 2019
A1a) without breaking any confidential agreements, could you describe how bad the output was? #AIChat
— Nick Tang (@nickhtang) May 30, 2019
A1a)#AIChat. In the first couple of epochs, the output is pretty nonsensical. We trained ours letter by letter, so many of the words don’t make sense initially. After time, you get full words that mean something.

@wearetinygiant #AIchat. Data is definitely the key. 10 years’ of talks gave us a strong dataset, which meant our results were good.

Q2 for @copywriterkerry What types of innovative programming did #AIDA create for https://t.co/YfHchwp4qh (again, without breaking any confidentially agreements etc)? #AIChat
— Nick Tang (@nickhtang) May 30, 2019
@wearetinygiant #AIChat AIDA was also able to create a foreword for the front of the brochure. This sits alongside the forewords from the 3 human guest curators at the festival.
— Kerryharrison (@copywriterkerry) May 30, 2019
@wearetinygiant #AIChat. We put AIDA’s talk titles out to a public vote. Introvert Narwhals was the chosen talk. This event will happen live next Saturday at the Festival https://t.co/JQZLQavZga
— Kerryharrison (@copywriterkerry) May 30, 2019
I can’t wait as well! Do you have any idea the festival goers will react? #AIChat
— Nick Tang (@nickhtang) May 30, 2019
#AIChat. So far everyone has been very encouraging and a little intrigued. The festival attracts people who are curious about the world around them, so I think they’ll love AIDA and find the whole event interesting and inspiring. We hope so anyway!
— Kerryharrison (@copywriterkerry) May 30, 2019
@wearetinygiant #AIChat. AIDA created a range of weird and wonderful talk suggestions for the Festival. These included: Space Dinosaurs, Introvert Narwhals, Aliens What What?, Everest Spoon Science and The Perfume Greenland Mystery!
— Kerryharrison (@copywriterkerry) May 30, 2019
How did the human event managers etc react when they saw the suggestions? #AIChat
— Nick Tang (@nickhtang) May 30, 2019
#AIChat The Cheltenham Festival team have been absolutely amazing. The festival co-ordinator, loved the talk titles, and we’ve had a lot of fun on our adventures together.
