#AIChat is a Twitter chat.
My guest(s) cut through the artificial intelligence (AI) noise.
To help you make sense of the AI world.
On December 13/18, my guest was Shane Fogle (@fogle_shane).
The topic? Artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
Here’s the summary of this AIChat (P.S. Mistakes are mine):
This is only the question we’ll talk about today with my guest @fogle_shane:
Q1)
If a company doesn’t get digital transformation, can #ServiceNow and #AI help it? #AIChat

A1 Absolutely! #ServiceNow has inherent machine learning and automation features which were designed to support #DigitalTransformation via their “Now Platform” which was built to support Intelligent Automation #AIChat

A1 It’s also important to note that while platforms, such as #ServiceNow can help enable #DigitalTransformation the organization must culturally be prepared to adopt and support #AIChat

A1: #AI and #DT are intrinsically linked. It’ difficult to separate the practice of digital transformation from AI. We need to dig deeper to unveil the specific AI applications that will have the biggest impact on digital transformation. #AIchat

A1) follow up to @fogle_shane and @adlibsoftware -> what’s the worst case scenario if a company’s culture doesn’t support #digitaltransformation? Could #AI still save it? #AIChat

A1 (follow up) Yes, I think so- Sometimes it takes “seeing” it in action to truly understand the impact, which if you’ve implemented the right platforms/tools that truly benefit the organization, adoption seems to happen almost as a by-product of the implementation

And they must understand its potential impact! According to the Harvey Nash/KPMG CIO Survey for 2018, 48% of CIOs reported that their teams are very or extremely effective at understanding the impact of #DT on their industries. #aichat

Entirely possible. Few businesses are yet taking advantage of innovations such as #AI and #RPA. Indeed, many seem locked in the planning phases or are bogged down by legacy systems #aichat

Could you explain #RPA for us @adlibsoftware (in case we have non-techies in the #AIChat audience)? #AIChat
— Nick Tang (@nickhtang) December 13, 2018
https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js
Absolutely! #RPA stands for Robotic Process Automation. In its simplest terms, it refers to technology that streamlines and automates repetitive tasks, thus minimizing errors and increasing productivity. #aichat

Excellent! Thank you! If organization get #RPA and the processes right = successful #DigitalTransformation with #AI? #AIChat

It’s possible. Success inherently stems from the data that drives these innovations. The first step to digital transformation is putting the pieces in place to make organizational data holistic and readily utilized. #aichat

Agree 100%. As I have learned in leading #DigitalTransformation implementations, no two are the same, especially as it relates to value and impact to the organization #AIChat

A1 I think it’s also important to note that #DigitalTransformation can be a phased process. There are many differing technologies/capabilities that can be used individually or combined to provide the most value to an organization. #AIChat

The businesses who are early adopters are the ones who have data that is primed, compliant and ready to generate innovation. Otherwise, it’s garbage in garbage out. Innovation is only as good as the data that fuels it! #aichat

Agree! There is apprehension in some industries/vertical as it relates to these technologies, while others are adopting it as quickly as innovations occur #AIchat

Then its a battle as there are so many human factors that arise & reality most businesses adopting #DigitalTransformation & #AI aren’t ready but is a necessity to stay relevant 🌐🤔 #AIChat
